I had a quiet 58th birthday at the Menen Hotel last Saturday.
Towards the end of the Sunday I noticed a little activity in the water. A pod of dolphins had a school of fish herded up against the reef edge and were going for it. I got out the trusty Nikon and got the above photos ... nice belated birthday present!
About 15 minutes later I went out on the reef flat on the incoming tide and a whole school of 30 cm silver fish jumped out of the water next to me. They had been hiding in the shallows avoiding the dolphins.
